Water rides are some of the best. They are perfect for hot days when you need to cool off or just want to get wet. With the prices at Disney parks, it might be better than buying a soda. Here are my Top 5 Disney Get Wet Rides, from both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Check out some of these the next time you need to cool off.
1. Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
Magic Kingdom’s Splash Mountain is the best by far. It has it all: theming, drops, and of course, splashes. The reason I put the Magic Kingdom version above its Disneyland counterpart is because the ride is longer, the inside scenes are lighter, and the scenery is more colorful. With several drops, you are sure to get wet and come off refreshed.
2. Grizzly River Run (California Adventure)
On my family’s last trip to Disneyland I rode this ride for the first time. I was able to use the Single Rider Line http://www.familytravelescapades.com/disney-parks-tip-the-single-rider-line/ to it’s fullest extent, and go on seven times in a row. The people are always friendly, and the ride never gets old. You are guaranteed to get wet and come off laughing.
3. Summit Plummet (Blizzard Beach)
While this is not at the parks, but at the WDW’s Blizzard Beach http://www.familytravelescapades.com/blizzard-beach-overview/, I felt it worth mentioning. This 120 foot slide is not for those afraid of heights. With an almost 90 degree drop, it is over in seconds. If you do decide to take the plunge, you won’t be sorry. Just remember to keep your legs together.
4. Splash Mountain (Disneyland)
You might be wondering why this one is so far down from it’s WDW version. The reason for this is that it is so close to the same ride, yet not as good. The splashes, however, are not as big due to the raft’s arrangement. It is still a fun ride, with long drops and splashes.
5. Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)
The reason for this ride being the farthest down on my list is that I can’t remember it. I can not give a fair assessment of it. However, from what I remember, it is a fun ride and very similar to Grizzly River Run. It has excellent African theming and is slightly longer than Grizzly River Run.
On a hot day, when you need to get out of the sun, think about these rides. These are my favorites, but tell me your opinion.
