Ten Countries a Teen Wants to Visit
I am the teen contributor to the Family Travel Escapades. My dad recently shared his Top 10 list of countries he wishes to visit, and here is my list: Ten Countries a Teen Wants to Visit.
Since I love food, and every bite of French food that I have eaten has been delicious, I would love to tour France and sample the food. I also want to visit Disneyland Paris. It is not supposed to be one of the best Disney parks, but it does have differences that I would like to see. Its castle is the only one of the overseas castles that is not a duplicate of an American castle. The second park, Walt Disney Studios has a Ratatouille ride that I would love to try. Of coarse, I also want to see the other other famous Paris sites like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and L’Arc de Triomphe.
The main reason that I want to visit Germany is for Bavaria and the Black Forest. Much of Bavaria looks straight out of a storybook. The medieval, fairy tale look interests me very much. I would love to visit Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the best castles in the world and the inspiration for the castle in Cinderella. Rothenburg looks like a perfectly preserved medieval town.
The thing about Greece that most interests me is its history. Thermopylae is the home of one of the most famous battles in history, and the battle that interests me most. I would also like to see the ruins of ancient Athens as well as Mount Olympus, Delphi, and Sparta.
The country of Ireland has always interested me. My mom says that she descended from the Irish. On our recent trip to the United Kingdom, we didn’t have time to make it over to Ireland due to time constraints. Ireland has many things that I would like to see: the landscapes, the castles, and the very old towns. They also make a lot of something that I love to eat: CHEESE!
I love history, and I am a Christian. I want to visit the sites of Jesus’s life: Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, the Mount of Olives, and Golgotha. I want to see as many of the ancient ruins as possible.
Italy is one of the most historical places on earth. I most want to see Rome; the capital of the Roman Empire. I would also like to see Venice, the city built on the water. I very much want to sample the food of Bologna, which I hear is some of the best.
There are obviously many things to see in Japan, but I will be honest, the main reason that I want to visit Japan is to visit Tokyo Disneyland. For starters, people say that it is the friendliest of the locations. DisneySea is supposed to be the best Disney park in the world and I really want to visit it.
I am a big fan of the Lord of the Rings books and movies. I love the book The Hobbit, too, but didn’t like the movies based on it as much. I want to visit the sites throughout New Zealand that were used in the movies. It is so convincing as Middle Earth.
I want to take a safari and see as many animals as possible in their native habitat. Tanzania seems to be maybe the best place to do this on the Serengeti plains. Also, I have tried African food, including a delicious curry, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and would like to try more.
United States of America
I am young, and there is still a lot of my own country that I have not seen. I have never been to New York City, our largest and most famous city. I want to visit places that I have seen from movies and TV: Washington D.C., Santa Barbara (from Psych), San Francisco, and Compton.
I will add China as an eleventh, because it has Hong Kong Disneyland and soon will have Shanghai Disneyland.
As you see, my wish list is similar to my dad’s, which I guess might be expected. I hope you have enjoyed the list: Ten Countries a Teen Wants to Visit. Please share your wish lists and opinions in the comment section and check out dad’s list: Ten Countries I Most Want to Visit.
