Disneyland’s Paint the Night Parade is the new feature parade each evening. It was debuted for the Disneyland Diamond Celebration. The parade is wildly popular with guests securing prime spots up to 4 hours before it starts. Bright floats, Disney and Pixar characters, upbeat music, and dancers help make this a must see event. You and your family will love it, as it has something for everyone. (Tips for securing a prime spot are given below.)
Peter Pan and Tinkerbell open up the parade.
They are followed by other classic Disney characters.
Then come the Pixar stars and floats.
After that are the Disney Princesses.
The classic Disney characters bring up the rear with Mickey as the grand finale.
Get out to Disneyland and catch this entertaining show with your family!
Tip: The crowds are immense. If you want a prime spot, then you will need to stake it out early. Bring a towel, find your spot, spread out the towel and claim it as your own. Take shifts of sitting on the towel and going out to enjoy the park. This will give you a prime spot for both the Paint the Night Parade and the Disneyland Forever fireworks show that follows.
Tip 2: If you are not willing to wait this long (as we were not), there are still good viewing areas available. One is in front of the Matterhorn. About an hour before the parade, there is an area roped off to view which is sitting only. This means that you can sit, rest your legs and back, and not have to look over others. The downside of this seating area is that you cannot watch the fireworks from here. In a following post about the Disneyland Forever fireworks show, I will give tips for getting a good viewing spot for it, too.
