The Muppets Present
Great Moments in American History
at Magic Kingdom

Sam Eagle from the Hall of Presidents
The Muppets have a new show in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Several times each day, from mid-morning through the afternoon, the Muppets present Great Moments in American History. We caught this new show during our last visit to Magic Kingdom. Here is a look at what we saw.

The Town Crier
A town crier sets the stage in Liberty Square. Sam Eagle chirps in from the top of the Hall of Presidents while Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and several chickens perform from the windows of the Heritage House. There are currently two shows: Declaration of Independence and Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.

Kermit the Frog as Thomas Jefferson

Fozzie Bear as Benjamin Franklin
I was only lucky enough to watch the Declaration of Independence show. It was a brief U.S. history lesson wrapped in traditional Muppet silliness. I can’t say that I learned anything, but children or guests not from the U.S. may learn something.

Gonzo as John Adams

Miss Piggy as Queen Georgina (King George) of England
Since Muppets present Great Moments in American History in the streets of Liberty Square, minimal planning is necessary. Just check your times guide and be in Liberty Square in front of Heritage House at one of the set times. Then, enjoy one of the best Walt Disney World street performances.

The crowd votes to secede from England to the dismay of Queen Georgina

Upon learning that the British lose, Miss Piggy changes characters to become George Washington
If you show up a few minutes early, you can get a waffle at Sleepy Hollow and grab a seat on the brick ledge directly across from Heritage House. Then, you can enjoy dinner and a show.

The Muppets celebrate
During your next visit to Magic Kingdom, make sure to catch The Muppets Present Great Moments in American History. You will laugh and your kids will learn (and laugh).
