More Caribbean Architecture
Part 1 of our architecture post focused on churches and public buildings. Part 2, More Caribbean Architecture explores where the people live, work, and play.
One of my favorite things exploring Caribbean towns is the array of colors: pastels of red, yellow, greens, turquoise. The streets are bright and vibrant which reflects the feel of the cities.
Individual Commercial Buildings
Caribbean, colonial style architecture line most of the streets of the Lesser Antilles. Fort de France, Martinique, being the largest city in the region, has the most diverse selection.
Homes and condos of the Lesser Antilles are mostly colonial, plantation style structures in whites and pastels with large, shaded porches, many with metal roofs.
I hope you have enjoyed our look into More Caribbean Architecture.
