Hotel Spadai Review
Florence, Italy
Luxury in the Heart of Firenze
Hotel Spadai in Florence, Italy is a 4-Star hotel in a perfect location to explore this amazing city. We chose Hotel Spadai as our base in Florence due to its location and great reviews on TripAdvisor. When we arrived, we noticed many similarities with Hotel Artemide in Rome. They are actually sister hotels.

Location
Hotel Spadai has, in my opinion, the perfect location for the traveling family. It is less than 1 kilometer from the Florence’s main train station, Santa Maria Novella. The hotel lies within the pedestrian only zone of Florence. Across the street is the Medici Palace. The Duomo, the heart of Florence, lies just one block away. Almost all of the main tourist sites in Florence are within a kilometer.
Hotel Spadai
Hotel Spadai is a relatively new hotel built into a Renaissance building. The lobby and interior are classy and very modern. The interior is quite a contrast to what you will see outside. Next to the front desk, a cozy lounge awaits. In the evening, tapas are offered to anyone buying drinks, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Each morning, a continental breakfast is served upstairs under the eaves the roof.
Room
Our room was beautiful, modern, and large. After a long day exploring, we rested in a king sized bed and fold out couch. Each day, our mini fridge was stocked with drinks and treats were left for us to enjoy.
Everything was comfortable and clean.
Staff
Every member of the staff with whom we interacted was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Hotel Spadai has wonderful customer service. Not everyone spoke English well. This did not cause a problem, though. The staff was great.

How do you pronounce Spadai?
It is certainly not the Americanized version which rhymes with “lady” that we originally used. Our taxi driver, not a pleasant fellow, ridiculed us for this. He pronounced it “spah – dee.” Humorously, for us, this was not correct, either. The bellman informed us and him that it you should say “spah – dah – ee.”
Overall
I cannot imagine a better place from which to explore Florence, Italy. The location is perfect. The hotel is clean, modern, and beautiful. The rooms are large and well equipped. And, the staff are pleasant and helpful. When we return to Florence, we will return to the Hotel Spadai. When you visit Florence, you should stay here, too.
