Welcome to Harmony Barber Shop
Harmony Barber Shop
Main Street, USA
Where a Haircut is a Memory
Did you know that there is a functioning barber shop at Disney World? It’s true. Harmony Barber Shop on the Town Square cuts hair each day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. You might want to stop in on your next visit to Magic Kingdom.
As with everything Disney, there is something special about a cut at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Harmony Barber Shop is an old-time shop, fitting perfectly into the small town America, early 1900s theme of Main Street, USA. Inside you will find paneled walls and leather chairs. The barbers wear slacks/skirts and ties. It is a laid back trip to the past.
My First Haircut

“My 1st Haircut” Mickey ears at Harmony Barber Shop, Main Street, USA, Magic Kingdom
How could a baby’s first haircut be more memorable than when done at Disney World? Most hair salons today offer special first haircut experiences with a souvenir lock of hair and a certificate. But, it cannot compare to Disney.
This is probably the most popular use of Harmony Barber Shop. With My First Haircut at Disney World, parents get the customary lock of hair and certificate, and baby gets a special pair of Mickey ears.
Not Just for Babies
Anyone of any age can go to Harmony Barber Shop. The prices are comparable to chain hair salons like Fantastic Sam’s and Great Clips. Here, you come out with a cut and a unique experience for no more money than at home. Rumor has it that 40 something year old dads and teen sons have been clipped here, enjoyed the experience, and will return.
The barbers are pleasant and friendly. Mine said that she had worked at Harmony Barber Shop for over 15 years. If you wish, your barber will add glitter to your hair. I passed on the glitter.
Not Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

from “The Big Bang Theory”
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is the more famous salon. Guests here are transformed into Disney princesses and heroes. Despite popular myth and the deception of a popular sitcom, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is neither found at Disneyland, nor can adults go there. There is one at Disney World and on Disney Cruise Line Ships. At Disney World, it is behind Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom.
Town Square
When you enter Magic Kingdom, passing under Main Street Train Station, you enter Town Square. Immediately look to the far left corner. There, you will see a candy cane barber pole. You have found Harmony Barber Shop.
Reservations
Reservations can made by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529. This can speed things up. Beware. People who no-show or cancel within 24 hours still pay a $10 fee. You can also walk in and add your name to a list. Then, wait outside until your name is called. Your wait will depend on the time of day that you arrive. I arrived there early in the day without a reservation. My wait was just a few minutes.
Memories
We all want special memories from our visits to Disney World. Opportunities abound throughout the parks with rides, parades, and character meet-and-greets. Now you know of another: Harmony Barber Shop, Main Street, USA – Where a Haircut is a memory.

Barber shops are the last place between old and new where you get to socialize too with people in your community. I absolutely understand the value of such a childhood memory, it; s priceless. 🙂
It looks so fun and convincing for kids haha I would love to go there
This is a great idea! I had no idea that they had a barber shop there. What a way to create memories for a lifetime.
What an incredible way to celebrate a first haircut or a father/son bonding moment! I had no idea this existed, but leave it to Disney to think of those special little details.
What a great way to enjoy a haircut. The glitters? It would be cute maybe for kids. For me, I’m not sure. Hehe.
I had no idea there was a barbers shop in Disney, though I have to say it does not really surprise me!! Its a great thing for a dad and son to do together.
Disney does think of everything. It is mainly dad’s and sons, but there were some female patrons, too.
Really disappointing that Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique isn’t for adults— totally not fair! They need to make an adult version…and serve champagne 🙂
They are beginning, for the first time, to serve alcohol in a couple of Magic Kingdom restaurants. So, you never know!
Ha! What an interesting memory to make! Not many theme parks offer that kind of service. Very cool tidbit.
That is so funny that there’s a barber shop in Disney, those little hats are so cute!
We live a little South of Disney and my husband is always complaining about hair cut prices being too expensive. When I told him how cheap they were at Disney he was shocked. Maybe this pass holder will add this to the travel list and save money at Disney, the first time ever saying that. LOL
That’s funny. We are pass holders, too. DVC and Southwest Airlines make it possible for us.
