Day 5 Disney Fantasy Cruise
On Day 5 Disney Fantasy Cruise of the Western Caribbean we would visit Falmouth, Jamaica and try to get hypnotized. Elaine was still not feeling back to normal; so, we again decided not to take a port excursion. Instead, we decided to just take a self tour of Falmouth.
The ship docked directly adjacent to the duty free mall. The Falmouth duty free mall is my favorite of any that we have visited. Although very touristy, I always knew that I was in Jamaica. It had lively sites, sounds and smells.
We enjoyed watching men carve wooden animals and listening to musicians play and sing in the duty free zone. We were going to venture out into the town as we have done at all of our other Caribbean ports. but opted against it. Outside the gates, multiple police officers stood keeping a throng of locals from entering the mall. Two teens were trying to leave the mall in front of us, but were stopped by an officer and were told that they had to have an adult as it was not safe. In other towns, most of the people seemed to show a mild disinterest with us. Here, they were waiting for the tourist eagerly. We turned back around and continued back to the ship.
Even though we did not venture further into the town or into the jungle, I thoroughly enjoyed my stroll.
Afternoon on Board the Fantasy
We enjoyed a four course lunch at the Royal Court and then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the ship and the AquaDuck.
The ship feels pretty empty on port days as can be seen in the photo of the usually bustling Deck 11.
Dinner and a Show
We were back in the Royal Court for dinner, too. That was okay with us and we love the decor and the food is delicious at each of the restaurants.
Comedian and hypnotist, Ricky Kalmon, was the spotlight, evening entertainer on Day 5 Disney Fantasy Cruise. He has been seen on ESPN and Disney Channel. Elaine was intrigued. We got a front row seat so that she could rush on stage when volunteers were called. Unfortunately, Mr. Kalmon was not able to hypnotize Elaine. The Show was still amazing and hilarious. We could not believe that these were people from our cruise doing these crazy things. They had to be plants. We met several of them later with their families. We had seen each of them on board and would see them again. Each person and their family members swore that it was real. Amazing! I recommend that you check him out.
Check back tomorrow for Day 6 Disney Fantasy Cruise Another Day at Sea which will feature Peter Pan, racing babies, and a wonderful Disney Musical.
