Day 4 Disney Fantasy Cruise
On Day 4 Disney Fantasy Cruise we would visit Grand Cayman and watch the Disney musical Wishes. Elaine was not feeling well; so, we did not plan a port excursion.
A Morning on the Ship
My son and I decided to enjoy the AquaDuck, the water coaster that encircles and even swings over the edge of the Disney Fantasy. With most people on shore, the wait was minimal. The AquaDuck is a blast and the views are great.
On Shore Grand Cayman
After lunch, we decided to explore George Town. There is no harbor for large cruise ships on Grand Cayman due to coral reefs near shore. The Fantasy anchored a distance from the shore and had shuttle boats tender us to shore.
The ride to and from ship to shore was one of my favorite things. Grand Cayman has some of the most beautiful, perfectly clear water that I have seen. You can easily see fish right over the edge of the boat.
Grand Cayman is one the wealthiest Caribbean Islands. George Town is full of jewelers, perfumeries, banks, condos, and chain restaurants. While it was beautiful and felt safe, it also felt too familiar to really intrigue me. Islands like Martinique and Antigua seemed more foreign and more of an adventure.
Dinner and a Show
We were back in the Enchanted Garden for dinner on Day 4 Disney Fantasy Cruise.
As always, the food was amazing and the service was excellent. On Disney Cruises, your servers rotate restaurants with you each night. You get to know them during your stay. Our servers, Stefan from Slovakia and Santiago from Columbia, quickly learned our preferences and provided exceptional service.
The headline show for tonight was Disney’s Wishes, a musical about three friends who grew up around Disneyland and who are graduating high school. The show was wonderful. Disney’s stage shows are almost always excellent and the entertainers are exceedingly talented.
Grand Caymon Street Chickens
We hope you are enjoying following our Disney Fantasy Western Caribbean Cruise. Check back tomorrow for Day 5 Disney Fantasy Cruise – Falmouth, Jamaica.
