Disney parks are the masters of the flatbread. The quality of Disney’s food can run the gamut and is often debated. I have found that the flatbreads consistantly are flavorful, filling, and a good value. Many are like personal pizzas, which is good; others branch into new culninary territories and are pleasant surprises for your taste buds. If you are set on pizza, check out the prior article on Pizza at Walt Disney World. I have tried nearly every flatbread at the parks and the deluxe/DVC resorts. Here are in my opinion the 5 best flatbreads at WDW.

Vegetable Flatbread at Mara in Jamba House Animal Kingdom Lodge is absolutely delicious. I had no idea what to expect whenI first tried it, but was delighted with the spices and mix of flavors. It has a blend of chermoula (a North African marinade with lemon and spices including cumin) and 4 cheeses, and is topped with portobella mushrooms, roasted red peppers, roasted zucchini, and caramelized onions. This one is on the exotic side, but if you are even a little daring, then you have to try it. Mara also offers pepperoni and barbeque flatbreads (it is ad African BBQ and almost made the list.)

Chicken, Spinach, and Artichoke Flatbread at Saratoga Spring’s Artist Point was the first Disney flatbread that I ever tried and remained my favorite until I visited Mara. Alfredo sauce and cheese mix with signiture ingrediants to give a wonderful mix of tart and mellow flavors. Artists Point also offers caprese, sausage/pepper dew, cheese, pepperoni, and cheeseburger flatbreads.

Margherita Flatbread at The Grand Floridian’s Gasparilla Island Grill is a very traditional pizza option. The classic combination of mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and basil come together on a thin, crispy crust. They nail the flavor and texture of margherita pizza perfectly. Gasparilla Island has a huge selection of flatbreads: chicken alfredo, BBQ pork, chorizo, pepperoni, and Hawaiian.

Meat Lover Flatbread at the Contemporary Resort’s Contempo Cafe’ is surprisingly my wife’s favorite flatbread. It has to be the bacon. Bacon, sausage, and pepperoni on tomato sauce and mozzrella cheese hits the spot. The bacon really is the dominant flavor, but it is not overwhelming and blends well with the other ingrediants. You can also get cheese, caprese, blackened chicken, and smoked BBQ flatbreads here.

Caprese at Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom rounds out my top 5. I am not sure that it is better than any of the other caprese flatbreads around WDW, but the location catapults it into the list. It certainly hits the spot during a long day on your feet. Basil pesto, tomatoes, arugula, and mozzarella with a balsamic vinegar glaze is a nice, light treat. Pepperoni is also available at Pinochhio Village Haus. The only other park flatbread options are at Epcot’s Electric Umbrella. They are good, but not as good, and there are so many other options at Epcot.
**I wish more options were available at the parks. If you are not staying at either Saratoga Springs or Animal Kingdom Lodge, then it takes true effort to sample their options. The Contemporary and Grand Floridian resorts are more easily accessed via the monorail.
***Disneyland has 2 restaurants that offer flatbreads: Village Haus (BLT flatbread) and Disneyland Hotel (Big Island Flatbread and Kailua Pork Flatbread). Each of these are excellent, but would not have made this list.
