Basseterre St. Kitts Photos
Basseterre is the capitol of the Caribbean islands of St. Kitts and Nevis. Cruise ships dock here and let you explore this beautiful island. For a tour of the entire island, click on this link St. Kitts Photo Tour. Continue to scroll down for Basseterre St. Kitts Photos.
Port Zante Shops
Upon leaving your cruise ship, you enter a lovely, duty-free shopping center. Here you will find restaurants, clothing shops, jewelry, gifts, and a casino.
As we entered into the shopping center from the dock, we were handed a monkey, which of course was cute and charming. We took photos and were then told we owed $10. We did not have a problem with the payment, but were caught quite off guard and did not have time to think about it. Hopefully, you will be better prepared. Be ready. If you do not want to pay for monkey photos, be ready to quickly wave them off (there were several monkeys and handlers).
Basseterre Town Center
You exit the duty free mall and enter the town of Basseterre through the History Museum. The town is classic Caribbean with brightly colored shops and restaurants.
Away from Downtown
Moving along the coast away from the town center, you encounter street vendors, fruit markets, and fishermen.
Heading further from the town center, you will see government buildings, a war memorial, and more suburban neighborhoods as you head into the mountains.
I hope you have enjoyed our photo tour of Basseterre. St. Kitts is home of friendly people and stunning scenery.
